Abstract

The dramatic text can be divided into two parts:
  1. the dialogue spoken by the dramatic personae; and
  2. the so-called didascalies of the text.
The role and functions that didascalies can fulfil in a dramatic text are d emonstrated in a discussion of Reza de Wet’s Diepe grond.
